Phyllis and her granddaughter Alexandra had planted a few pumpkin seeds out in Grandpa Jack’s garden. The plants were growing nicely, but slowly. Halloween was right around the corner and Alexandra was worried about having a big enough pumpkin to bring to her pre-school Show & Tell. Phyllis was worried about Alexandra being disappointed so she came up with a plan. Off to Kroger she went. Can you guess what she did there? Next day, when the two of them went out to look at the plants, there grew the loveliest brightest orange pumpkin you ever saw. Alexandra was in Seventh Heaven. Phyllis had a big grin on her face and Grandpa Jack, in the background, just shook his head. What would Grandma Phyllis be up to next, he wondered.
